Doctors
Griffith B Haber , DVM, Member Association of Feline Practitioners, Member Association of Animal Behaviorists, Member International Veterinary Acupuncture Society

Dr. Haber established Murphy Road Animal Hospital in 1977. He is a native Nashvillian and received his undergraduate and graduate education at Purdue University. After college he served in the U.S. Air Force before returning to Nashville to enter into private practice. Dr. Haber's special interests lie in canine and feline internal medicine and animal behavior disorders. He has also pursued specialized training in veterinary acupuncture at the University of Georgia. Dr. Haber has been published for Nashville Pets Magazine and has also written for Behavior Today, a professional publication. Dr. Haber and his wife, Sherry, are proud of their two children, Erica and Matthew. |

I. Craig Prior , BVSc, Member AVMA, TVMA, International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management

Dr. I Craig Prior was born and raised in Australia, and graduated from the University of Queensland in Brisbane in 1984. In 1982, while representing Australia at the World's Fair in Knoxville, Dr. Prior met his wife, Cindy, a Nashville native. He joined the staff of Murphy Road Animal Hospital in 1986. His special interests lie in small animal medicine and surgery, and improving the quality of his patient's lives through pain management. Our media star, Dr Prior has been a regular guest on Channel 5's Talk of the Town for over 15 years, as well a featured contributor on the Home and Garden Network, National Public Radio, the New York Times, and Dog Fancy. He has also been seen on FoxNews "Fox & Friends". Dr Prior also shares his experience with other veterinarians through speaking engagements throughout the country. Dr. Prior and Cindy live in Brentwood with their two children, Elle and Bryce, and their menagerie of pets. |

Bruce Graves , BSc, DVM

Dr. Bruce Graves grew up in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. His special interests include canine and feline medicine and surgery, small animal endocrinology, and ophthalmology. During his off time, Dr. Graves enjoys scuba diving, water skiing, and UT and Titans football. |

Leighton Bell , BA, DVM

Dr. Leighton Bell has spent most of his life in Nashville. After receiving a BA degree from Vanderbilt University, he spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa. His decision to pursue a career in veterinary medicine led him to Middle Tennessee State University and then to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he completed his degree in 1996. Since graduation, he has been on the staff of Murphy Road Animal Hospital. Dr. Bell and his wife, Mary, have three children and, at last count, five dogs and three cats. |

Dr. James T Bolles , BS, DVM

Dr. Bolles was born and raised in Nashville. He received his BS in animal science from Middle Tennessee State University in 1988 and his veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee in 1993. Dr. Bolles joined the staff of Murphy Road Animal Hospital in 2003. His special interests lie in canine and feline internal medicine and surgery. Dr. Bolles lives in Franklin with his wife Cherry and their dog Chester. |

Andrea Vanderpool , DVM

Dr. Andrea Vanderpool grew up in Schererville, Indiana and attended Purdue University for both her undergraduate work and veterinary degree. Following her graduation, she practiced in a high quality small animal hospital in Indiana and then relocated to Nashville. How lucky for us! Her special interests include canine and feline internal medicine, surgery, and ophthalmology. Dr. Vanderpool joined our dedicated staff of doctors in 2005 and shares her new home in the Nippers Corner area with her husband, Charlie, and cat, Vinny. |

Amanda C Cassetty , DVM

Dr. Amanda Cassetty was born and raised in Whitleyville, Tennessee, just northwest of Cookeville. She completed her pre-veterinary studies while attending Tennessee Technological University and received her veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee in 2004. For two years Dr. Cassetty practiced in a high quality small animal hospital in Nolensville. In 2006, to our good fortune, she decided to join our professional staff. Her special interests include radiology and ultrasound. In her spare time, Dr. Cassetty is active in her church's youth and outreach programs She shares her home in the Franklin area with her loyal feline companion, Sophie.

Dr. Judith Howell , D.V.M.

Dr. Howell was born and raised in Nashville. She received her B.S. Degree in Biology form Davidson College and her veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee. Before we were lucky enough to entice her to Murphy Road in 2007, she practiced small animal medicine and surgery for six years. Dr. Howell spends her free time with her family and their two dogs. |

Doug Brightwell , BS, MBA

Doug Brightwell, our hospital manager, was born and raised in Millbrook, Alabama, and received his undergraduate and graduate education in business from Auburn University. After serving eight years in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy, he moved to Nashville to become Personnel Manager for Black and Decker Corporation. After four years there, he joined the staff of Murphy Road Animal Hospital in 2000. Doug lives in the Priest Lake area with his partner, three children and menagerie of pets. |

Pam Ericksen

Pam, our Head Receptionist, is originally from Northern Virginia and began working in veterinary hospitals in 1978. Murphy Road Animal Hospital has been fortunate to have her since 1995. Extremely knowledgeable in all phases of the profession, she keeps a hectic front desk running smoothly. Pam lives in Springfield and enjoys her six cats, three goats, and a lot of yard work. |

Kristy Howard

You will recognize Kristy because she is always smiling. With a degree in accounting from Nashville State Technical Institute she joined the staff of Murphy Road Animal Hospital as receptionist in 1998. In April, 2005 she took over the daunting task of ordering and keeping track of the over 2000 medications and supplies that we stock at our hospital. Kristy is married and has two children, Hali and Perry. Her extended family includes two cats, Havannah and Indy. |

Jennifer Knap

Jennifer Knap started her career as a veterinary nurse at Murphy Road in 2000. She received her Associates Degree in Business from Volunteer State Community College in 2006. She is the hospital area supervisor and is working on her goal of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She lives in the Madison area with her boxer, Kaiya and several cats. |

Christy Goodman

Christy Goodman joined Murphy Road in 2004 as a pet caretaker in the kennel. She then transferred to the hospital area and worked as a veterinary nurse in the surgery area for 2 years. Christy is now the kennel supervisor for the clinic. She has 3 children and several pets. |

Cori Kresse Cori joined the staff as Manager of the Love at First Sight! Pet Adoption Center in May 2009. Cori lives in Fairview, TN with her many dogs and her bearded dragon. She is interested in dog training and has worked with pets her whole life, doing everything from doggie daycare to retail work. She also volunteered at Love at First Sight during high school.

Alexis Stewart , LVT, BS

Alexis Stewart is a native of Western New York. She relocated to Nashville after marrying her college sweetheart Douglas in October 2008. As a proud boilermaker, she completed her BS in veterinary technology at Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to transferring to Purdue, Alexis completed her Associates Degree at SUNY College of Technology at Alfred State. She has been working as a licensed technician since 2004, most recently in Pennsylvania. In her free time Alexis enjoys reading, playing soccer, and spending time with her husband and Boston Terrier puppy, Alara. |

She many years of veterinary experience and has been our receptionist since 1993. Joanne lives with a Boston Terrier, a Yorkshire Terrier, and 3 cats. |

Connie is a Nashville native with forty two years experience working with the public. She says that "I love animals, and I enjoy working with people, I seem to have the best of both worlds here, at Murphy Road Animal Hospital." When she is not working or caring for her eight cats and special dog, Aries, she enjoys visiting her daughter, Suzanne, and her grand-daughter, Ella. |

One of the smiling faces you will notice at our front desk is Annie's. She came to us in 2005 from New England and is a great addition to our staff. Annie is active in Greyhound adoption and shares her home with her husband, Brett and two retired racers and one Italian Greyhound. |

Margit Engel-Teller

Margit joined the staff at MRAH in July 1996, but has been in the veterinary field since 1980. Her experience is vast having worked in specialized practices including veterinary opthalmalogy, dermatology, and at the Nashville Zoo. Margit's hobbies include pool, volleyball, PS3 and anything computer related. She is happily married to her lifelong partner, Stacy. |

Honee Wilson is an Oklahoma native of Choctaw/French heritage. After coming to Nashville via Las Vegas, she worked as a restaurant supervisor for an international restaurant chain for 8 1/2 years. She joined Murphy Road as a receptionist in 2006. She has been married for 16 years and she has 3 cats. |

Anna Wilson joined the staff of Murphy Road Animal Hospital as a pet nurse in 2008. She has recently move to front desk as a receptionist. Anna has several years experience as both a veterinary receptionist and nurse. |

Angela recently graduated from Auburn University and made the move to Nashville. She has always loved working with animals, and having pets of her own. She has a pit bull named Seabass, a pit bull mix named Storm, and a corgi named Macy. |

Vickie, our fantastic groomer, has been making pets look beautiful at Murphy Road Animal Hospital for 23 years! She was born in Lebanon and grew up in Nashville in the area that is now Music Row. In her free time, Vickie enjoys camping, woodworking, decorative painting and traveling, her favorite destination being Las Vegas! She shares her home with Dr. Pepper, her Miniature Schnauzer and her cat, Gabby, the Princess of the house. |

Sara Cox

Sara was born in Nashville, but grew up in West Virginia and northern Indiana, though she is a "southern girl" at heart! In 2002, Sara decided to take her love of animals and channel it into a career in grooming. She has never looked back. Her bubbling personality and spirit are a welcome addition to our staff, and she loves building relationships with her clients (and their owners!). In her spare time she can be fosund at the park or on the lake with her husband, Thomas, their two daughters, Abby and Kyrie, and their Boxer-mix, Rogue. Sara has also recently discovered a love for dancing , so don't be surprised to see her out somewhere, soaking up the nightlife! |
